1946

A picture for posterity. Mrs. Eleanor Zarief, mother of New York City's only quadruplets, entertains her three little girls and one boy by standing on her head at Manhattan Beach where they are passing the summer. Mrs. Zarief asked that this picture be taken so that in later years she can show it to her quadruplets as evidence that she is still agile after 28 months of caring for and waiting upon her darlings. Mom's acrobatics bring varied expressions on the faces of the cure foursome. Ellen seems curious, Elaine and Benjamin scream. Isadora appears shocked. The quads, according to medical men are "fraternal" rather than "identical". This accounts for the mixed sexes and for their marked differences in personality.
